About Me

Dr. Carl Gacono is internationally known as an expert in the area of personality disorders, criminal behavior, psychopathy, sexual homicide, and violence and risk assessment. He is a retired psychologist lving with his son, Jackson, in Asheville, North Carolina.  Senior-author, of “The Rorschach Assessment of Aggressive and Psychopathic Personalities”, co-editor of “Contemporary Rorschach Interpretation”, editor of "The Clinical and Forensic Assessment of Psychopathy: A Practitioner's Guide", he has authored or co-authored over 100 scientific articles and book chapters.  His recent co-edited book, “The Handbook of Forensic Rorschach Psychology”, was released in 2008.  Dr. Gacono is the 1994 recipient of the Samuel J. And Anne G. Beck Award for excellence in early career research, the 2000 recipient of the Walter G. Klopfer Award, a member of the American Board of Assessment Psychology,  and a Fellow of the Society for Personality Assessment.  

 

Carl has been painting since 2000.  He had attended the Austin Museum of Art, Laguna Gloria Art School and received private lessons.   His paintings are expressionistic and abstract expressionistic.  Carl had exhibited his art throughout Austin and has had his work reproduced on book covers.
